Missing teeth can affect how you eat, speak and smile. Dental implants at Winchester Dental Studio look, feel and work much like natural teeth, and Dr. Radwa Sobieh and our team can tell you whether they’re right for you.
Dr. Radwa Sobieh completed a one-year postgraduate program in implant dentistry, and she treats implant patients from Winchester and nearby communities.

The first step is a consultation with Dr. Radwa Sobieh. During this visit, Dr. Radwa Sobieh performs an in-depth evaluation of your teeth and jawbone in order to determine whether or not you’re a candidate for the dental implants.
If your exam and imaging show you’re a good candidate, the next step is placing the dental implant. Once the implant has healed into the bone, we attach the crown or other restoration. Your dentist will explain each phase and how long it takes.
To place the implant, Dr. Radwa Sobieh makes a small incision in the gum tissue over the open socket. Then, she carefully embeds the implant, which is a small screw made of the bio-compatible metal, titanium. Following the surgery, patients undergo a period of healing so their new implant(s) fuse with the jawbone to create a strong foundation for tooth restoration. The implant also stimulates the surrounding bone, which helps keep it from shrinking. In this way, you are less likely to develop a sunken facial appearance that so often occurs with tooth loss, or even among denture wearers.
Once your mouth has healed following the implant procedure, it’s time to place your quality smile restoration. For individual implants, Dr. Radwa Sobieh uses all-ceramic crowns. By using a crown made entirely of ceramic, you can be certain that your new tooth will look natural and that there won’t be any shadow or darkness within the tooth. Ceramic is also very strong and durable, so you can look forward to easily eating a varied diet with your new dental implant.
When more teeth are missing, an implant-retained denture or bridge may be a better option. These look like traditional dentures or bridges but snap onto implants, so they stay put. To care for them, brush and floss as you would your natural teeth.
Usually three to six months from placement to the final crown, because the implant needs time to fuse with the bone. If you need a bone graft or an extraction first, it takes longer. You won’t be left with a gap while you heal.
The area is numbed, so you feel pressure rather than pain. Most people are sore for a few days afterward and manage with over-the-counter pain relievers. Ask about sedation if you’re nervous.
The implant itself can last for decades with good care. The crown on top may need replacing after many years of wear. Brushing, flossing and regular checkups protect both.
It depends on how many teeth you’re replacing, whether you need a bone graft and the type of crown or denture on top. You’ll get the full cost at your consultation, and we offer payment plans, CareCredit and Cherry.
Most healthy adults with enough jawbone can have implants. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and untreated gum disease raise the risk of problems, so we check your health, gums and bone with 3D imaging first.
